To truly enjoy a great masterpiece, it must be experienced with all five senses. This is especially true for our beloved vintage Italian scooters. The smell, the soundtrack of the diva soloing – this unique transport and way of life is legendary!
People who conform to the above philosophy are becoming increasingly rare and there is more and more legislation aimed at protecting the environment and reducing vehicle emissions, which does not make it any easier for fans of traditional scooters. Despite honourable intentions, banning combustion engine scooters from entire cities will never be popular with vintage scooter riders!
When the battery is completely empty, charging takes about 4 – 5 hours. The battery can be taken out of the Vespa and taken inside the house. This is also safer.
Whether you like it or not, the time has come to consider alternative methods of powering our vintage scooters in modern urban environments. We are SMEETS CLASSICS, a company from the Netherlands, and we took on a solution in the form of electric replacement motors, suitable for vintage Vespa, Lambretta and certain automatic scooter models. These kits are designed to provide an economical solution when converting your scooter to electric power. This also means that it is a very simply designed entry-level kit. This setup allows you to swim with the flow of city traffic at a limit of 50 km/h, with a range that can reach your workplace. The conversion requires a little mechanical knowledge and skill, as some of the mounts need to be modified and fabricated to fit your particular scooter model. This is due to the fact that these engines are designed to be easily adapted to a wider range of scooters. The installation itself is relatively easy and involves just a few simple steps.
